01.gif  Log Out button () - Logs the user out of the system.
02.gif  Next button () - Takes the user to the next screen in the process flow.
03.gif  Previous button () - Takes the user back to the last screen they were on or the previous screen in the flow.
04.gif  Undo Screen Changes button () - Removes all changes made to a screen if it has not been submitted.
05.gif  Textbox () - Allows the user to type information into a field.
06.gif  Option buttons () - Displays options that the user can select from. Click the mouse in the circle beside the option to answer the question.
07.gif  Drop down List () - Displays a list of values for the user to select from.
08.gif  View History Button () - Allows the user to view history on information for a screen.
09.gif  Checkbox - Click the checkbox to select that value. The user will be able to check off more than one value, if applicable. Example: The Studying Outside of Canada table or the Permanant Disability Schedule.
10.gif  Help buttons ( or ) - Provides additional information while working with the application.
11.gif  Home hyperlink () - Returns the user to the Home Page
12.gif  Contact Us hyperlink () - Provides the user with information on how to contact Advanced Education.
13.gif  Error Messages - Are displayed in red text and below the screen heading when an error occurs. The related field that has the error will also turn red (see Figure 3).

14.gif  Action Required button - Displayed when the user changes information that will affect another screen (see Figure 4). (e.g. Changing Marital Status to Married from Single (learner is Single Dependant) and Parental Information was provided.)

Navigation Menu - The menu expands as the user goes forward through the application. If the user wants to go back to a previous section of the application, then the user must click on the section, then click on the sub-section. For example, if the user wants to go to the Reference Information screen and the user is in the Financial Information section, then the user must click the Personal Information section and then click on the Reference Information sub-section.

Shortcuts

01.gif  When entering an application, press the Tab key on the keyboard to go to the next field (e.g. click in the Social Insurance Field, then press the Tab key and the user will be in the Last Name field.). Press and hold down the Shift key and then press the Tab key to go backwards.
02.gif  At a drop down list the user can cycle through the values by:
a.  Using the up and down arrows on the keyboard.
b.  Pressing a letter on the keyboard to go to the first value starting with that letter. To go to other values that begin with the same letter press the letter again (e.g. Country drop down list: Press the 'c' key three times to get Canada).
c.  Using the scroll wheel on the mouse (located between the buttons).
03.gif  When at a checkbox, use the Space Bar on the keyboard to check or uncheck the value.
04.gif  When tabbed to a button, press the Enter key on the keyboard and the action relating to the button will happen (e.g. Next button: will go to the next screen).
