Eligibility for Funding for Part-time Post-Secondary Studies
Student funding assistance programs are available to Albertans who want to pursue part-time post-secondary studies.
Apply using the Application for Financial Assistance for Part-time Post-Secondary Studies for both provincial and federal part-time funding. The application is available at Alberta Services Centres, Canada-Alberta Service Centres and the financial aid office at your school.
The following is general information for part-time post-secondary funding:
- apply 6-8 weeks prior to the start of your course(s)
- the funding is intended to help cover the cost of tuition, books, travel and daycare (if applicable)
- students must pass their course(s)
The following are general eligibility requirements for part-time post-secondary funding:
- you must reside in Alberta
- you must demonstrate financial need
- eligibility for funding is determined by using an income threshold table
- you and your spouse’s/partner’s income will be considered
- any federal or provincial loans you have must be in good standing
- courses must lead to a certificate, diploma or degree
